Casa del Sol Inn

The service provided at Casa Del Sol was second to none! The rooms were tended too every day and The owner, Elizabeth, greeted us each morning and "knew our story". She made us feel very welcomed. The rooms were tended to daily and fresh drinking water was provided. You are offered a choice of breakfast items and could eat between 8-10am (selection and time selected the evening before). We stayed for over a week and didn't have a duplicate meal. Don't forget to try the margaritas during happy hour. They were the best of all thay we enjoyed on this visit. On our checkout day, we realized the driver we (thought) we reserved was not coming, Marianne stepped in and haf a driver to us within 30 minutes. Although we now own a home locally, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this establishment.

We had a wonderful stay here. Everyone who works here is helpful, friendly and kind. The hotel is very clean in all areas. Breakfast was delicious. It can be a bit noisy in rooms overlooking the street like ours, but that's to be expected, and it's nothing earplugs can't solve. The location is excellent. We'd absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends and visitors.

First of all, writing this in March 2026, the Lake Chapala area is completely safe! This is a wonderful hotel and a beautiful building, posted by an owner who cares about her guests and provides an incredible restaurant (famous Sunday brunch) and activities such as flamenco dancing evenings. Short walk to the lake, Square, and restaurants. Will be back!

This is a fabulous and beautiful place to stay for short term or longer visits. Elizabeth the owner has done an amazing job with this entire hotel. The people who work there are courteous, friendly, professional and make you feel especially welcome. The cleanliness of this place and the pool area are so lovely! The service was both friendly and easy. No stress, no fuss - lovely. The rooms are good the bed is however a little soft for my husband. Location was perfect to walk in to the town square - 5 10 mins to most restaurants, bars. Enjoy!

This was the best hotel we have stayed in at Ajijic. We have been going for eight years. Our room was ready so we got to check in early. The community/breakfast area is very clean and beautifully decorated. The proprietor showed us around and explained how everything worked and what specials they had. The hotel is centrally located a couple of blocks from the square. The rooms are large and have AC. Water pressure is good and so is the hot water. A little fridge is in the room but they also have a small community area to heat food up or store cold drinks.

We stayed for two nights and were so glad we did. The property is so well appointed, beautiful and so warm. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is wonderful and filling. And there is juice and cookies in the afternoons, and early coffee and muffins in the morning even before breakfast. The rooms are spacious and the owner has thought of everything. The location is perfect to walk everywhere and is close to the lake. The bartender, Efram, is so wonderful and we so enjoyed talking to him. Such a kind and helpful person. The hotel has movies nights, game nights and tons of other fun activities. We will defintiely be back to enjoy their Sunday brunch and happy hour. I can't recommend this place enough. One of my favortie hotels ever.

Casa del Sol Inn is a beautiful hotel which is located in the heart of Ajijic. We had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth the owner of the hotel. Efran the bartender was very friendly and a joy to talk to. The grounds of this hotel are so serene, it’s like being at a retreat, a few great places to sit and read or just relax by the pool which was very refreshing. Breakfast was included with our room and was great. Can’t wait to go back!
